Some Third-Party Cables and Chargers Not Working with iPad Pro’s Magic Keyboard

The new Apple iPad Pro-Magic Keyboard accessory was released a few weeks ago with Apple’s new iPad Pro lineup. The refreshed Magic Keyboard has a backlit key, trackpad, and a passthrough USB Type-C port for charging and connecting. Although it is amazing while using third-party apps charging products,  it causes problems.

Apple's new Magic Keyboard for the iPad Pro does not support some third-party cables and charging adapters according to relevant reports. while using it, multiple users have noticed that there occurred some issues with passthrough charging third party accessories with the Magic Keyboard.

There you can see displaying the ‘Not Charging’ message in the status bar that is next to the iPad Pro battery icon. These issues seriously affect even when you are using  MFI certified third-party charging cables and adapters throughout this new Magic Keyboard's fast charging feature. When connected directly to the iPad Pro, these cables and adapters appear to work well.

Some users encountered plenty of problems while charging the iPad Pro. it seems because they use the Magic Keyboard's  Anker USB-PD certified PowerPort Atom adapter as well as the Apple’s official USB Type-C cable. However, others do not see any kind of issue and there are only a few third-party devices that Magic Keyboard doesn't support.

Apple iPad Pro-Magic Keyboard Not Charging Issue Bug

It is not clear whether this problem is caused by a bug in the Apple device or issues from third-party brands. Further investigation will reveal the major cause of the problem and for that, it may take several days. We expect the Cupertino-based company to be able to fix the problem through a software update.

At the moment, if you are looking the most reliable way to charge an iPad Pro with the latest updated 2020 Magic keyboard here you have to use Apple's official USB Type-C cable and the company's official USB PD charging adapter.
